Such personal information in the custody and control of a third party or agent in another province or country is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. Your personal information may be collected, or disclosed by such third parties or agents without your knowledge or consent where required or permitted by law. You can access our Out of Canada Service Providers Statement for details of where we may store your personal information outside of Canada at https://www.atb.com/company/privacy-and-security/. You may request that Brightside not use your personal information for marketing purposes at any time as long as:
- There are no legal requirements for Brightside to use your personal information;
- Withdrawing your consent does not result in our inability to fulfill any agreement you have with us; and
- You withdraw your consent by connecting with us through the chat function in the Brightside app.
By withdrawing consent we will not contact you with any marketing or promotions (but, this means you won't be able to learn about the new and cool stuff we're doing!)
Please note that withdrawing your consent for marketing purposes will not prevent Brightside from sending you notices, directly or via a third party, that we believe help us serve your financial needs including account or fraud related notifications.
Retention of Personal Information
If you are no longer a customer of Brightside, Brightside may keep your personal information on record for as long as it is required for the described purposes and to meet any and all legal, legislative, and regulatory requirements.
